Social, Built Entirely Around Calls

Callio is a social platform built entirely around calls, no feeds, no scrolling, just one-on-one and group conversation in real time. A personal project designed solo, from concept to first version.

The Problem / Objective

Connection, Not Performance

Social media promised connection but delivered passive scrolling and performative posting, interactions that rarely feel like real contact. Calls are the opposite: immediate, present, unpolished. The objective was to build a social experience where the primary action isn’t posting, but calling.

The Design Process

Defining a New Interaction Model

As a ground-up concept, the work was about defining a new interaction model. I moved directly into high-fidelity Figma, designing the core experience, connecting with people, starting and joining calls, and managing the live-call space, with the goal of making a call-first app feel inviting rather than intimidating.
